Emergency Planning Committee Minutes
Don Button called the meeting to order at 11:35 AM with
Jerry Deckert, Alfred Baker, Roger Gardner, Frank Goldsby, Ryan Veesart and
Vivian Button present.
Alfred Baker made a motion to accept the minutes to the last
meeting. Motion Seconded by Roger Gardner. Motion carried.
Don thanked everyone who took the LEPC survey. He stated 103
out of the 105 counties completed the survey. The Survey was completed by
twelve of our members.
We talked about the LEPC by-laws copies were handed out. We
will look to see if any changes need to be made at the next meeting. Jerry
Deckert stated on page 4 of 5 Article VI under Calendar Year we might think
about changing fiscal year to County Government year.
We discussed the Stanton County Point of Distribution
exercise, Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital table top exercise, and
Some mutual aid issues have come to light with all of the
wild fires in the area. The main issues are accountability and communication.
Sixteen fire departments met in Satanta to address these issues.
Don talked about some online training for Anhydrous Ammonia.
The 800 MHz radio updates are Gray, Ford and Stevens county
towers go on line as of today; Hodgeman and Clark will be next; and the towers
left in our area will be Meade, Stanton and Greeley.
A note from Cathy Hernandez, Southwest Regional Coordinator
with KDEM stated the state is sending her to talk to all of the Health
Departments in her area about Emergency Management.
Jerry Deckert stated Emergency Medical Service will be
hosting an Emergency Pediatric Care class on June 4 and 5. It is a 16 hour
class. They will have 5 people who will be able to teach the class after
completion of this class. This fall they will also hold a Transition class for
First Responders, EMT-B and EMT-I.
Vivian Button stated we received 327 Tier II reports from 30

Frank Goldsby. Meeting adjourned at 12:57 PM.
