The Board of County Commissioners met in special session at 12:00 p.m. at Point of Rocks Golf Course Club House in Elkhart with Commissioners Carl Higgs and Madison Traster and County Clerk, Linda McHenry, in attendance. Commissioner Marty Long had another obligation and was unable to attend the meeting.

The meeting was called to meet with commissioners, clerks, economic development people and county attorneys from Morton, Stanton, Stevens and Hamilton County.

Economic Development Directors from each county gave an update on what’s been happening in their community.

House Bill 2434 was discussed. Hamilton County Commissioners were told about the interlocal agreement between the other four counties and they were invited to join the consortium. They took a copy of the resolution and the interlocal agreement to share with their commissioners who were unable to attend and will make a decision on joining at a later date.

General discussion was held. Dave Bozone will send an invoice to each county for $2500.00 for incidental expenses of the consortium. Wind energy was talked about. Martie Floyd asked if a committee should be formed to look for possible projects.

Hamilton County will host the next 5 county quarterly meeting.

The next meeting of the 4 county consortium will be March 22 at 9:00 a.m. in Hugoton.

The commissioners adjourned to meet again in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on March 6, 2007.
