Grant County has established a 24/7 hotline for you to talk to someone in person if you think you may have been exposed 620-356-6006

If you have recently traveled to a known infected area, have had exposure to someone who has COVID-19, or are experiencing mild to severe respiratory illness, including fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please call Grant County’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Hotline 620-356-6006.

March 25, 2020

Dear Residents of Grant County,

COVID-19 UPDATE FOR GRANT COUNTY

Governor Kelly issued an executive order temporarily prohibiting mass gatherings of 10 or more people to limit the spread of COVID-19. EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 20-14.

Grant County currently has NO POSITIVE cases.

KDHE is mandating a 14 day home quarantine for Kansans who have:

  • Traveled to California, Florida, New York, Washington State on or after March 15, 2020
  • Traveled to New Jersey or Illinois on or after March 23, 2020
  • Traveled to the following counties in Colorado - Eagle Summit, Pitkin and Gunnison on or after March 8, 2020
  • Been on any cruise ship or river cruise on or after March 15, 2020
  • Had any international travel

This also pertains to anyone visiting your home.

Please practice social distancing of at least 6 feet apart and for no longer than 10 minutes.

Please visit KDHE.gov daily as the guidelines and other information changes frequently.

Dear Residents of Grant County,

With the recent talk about Coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to assure you that your health and safety is our top priority. The Grant County Health Department is working closely with other local and regional agencies to prepare a community-wide plan for management of the event of any Coronavirus (COVID-19) occurrence in Grant County or the surrounding region. Grant County has zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 at this time.

 If you have recently traveled to a known infected area, have had exposure to someone who has COVID-19, or are experiencing mild to severe respiratory illness, including fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please call Grant County’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Hotline, at 620-356-6006.

Do not show up to your healthcare facility without receiving prior instructions from the hotline.

How is the virus spread? 

  • Primary method of spread: person-to-person through close contact (6 feet) for at least 10 minutes.
  • Respiratory droplets produced by an infected person when they cough or sneeze.
  • Secondary method of spread: through a contaminated object.

If you are sick:

  • Stay home except to get medical care
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes, and clean all highly used surfaces daily
  • Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if washing is not an option; avoid touching your face
  • Monitor your symptoms and seek prompt medical attention if symptoms are worsening
  • Call Grant County’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) hotline 620-356-6006 before going to your provider.

 Practice Preventative Actions

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick and stay home if you are sick
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes, and clean all highly used surfaces daily
  • Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if washing is not an option; avoid touching your face
  • Avoid any unnecessary travel
