[ARCHIVED] Grant County Gives Schools Monies for Programs

USD 214

On Tuesday, April 4th County Commissioners gave USD 214

Background - Kansas reached multiple settlements with major pharmaceutical companies, distributors and related firms as part of the state's ongoing efforts to bring accountability to those that fueled the opioid addiction crisis and to provide funds to support addiction services.  The settlements will result in Kansas receiving more than $340 million over the next 18 years to treat and fight opioid addition.  

Settlement - Grant County joined the lawsuit and has received $16,142.91 to date in a population proportional distribution from the State of Kansas.

Grant County Commissioners decided to put the monies in the hands of USD 214 to help sponsor drug prevention programs.
