About the Commissioner

Marty Long, Republican, was elected in 2022 and is serving his first term as a Grant County Commissioner.  Marty is not a new comer to Commissioner duties, he served as County Commissioner for 15 years before becoming a Kansas Legislator.  Commissioners are elected on four-year terms and Long's term is up for election in 2026.

About District 1

District 1 covers all of the portion of the City of Ulysses and Grant County located north of the center line of U.S. 160 Highway and west of the following described line:

  • Beginning at the intersection of U.S. 160 Highway and K25 Highway
  • Thence north to the center line of Janice Avenue
  • Thence east to the center line of Simpson Street image002.jpg
  • Thence north to the center line of Wheat Avenue
  • Thence east to the center line of College Street
  • Thence north to the center line of Patterson Avenue
  • Thence west to the center line of K25 Highway
  • Thence north along the center line of K25 Highway to the north county line
